A
Account
The relationship established between Membersy and a Primary Member in connection with a purchased Subscription.
Active Member
A Member with an Active Subscription.
Active Subscription
A Subscription in good standing, with no outstanding (unpaid) invoices against the current Billing Cycle.
Administrator / Admin
A User in Connect with elevated privileges (such as downloading reports) who is responsible for overseeing a membership Plan and its Members at their designated scope of supervision.
Administrative Fee
The fee paid by a Partner in exchange for the administrative services provided by Membersy, including plan design, website development and maintenance, payment processing, creation and distribution of marketing materials, regulatory compliance, and phone and email support. The Administrative Fee is deducted from Membership Rate prior to distribution to Partners.
Auto-Renew
A feature which automatically extends a Subscription into the next Billing Cycle when the current cycle ends. An Account with a recurring payment method on file will automatically be set to Auto-Renew.
B
Billing Cycle
The established term or period of time in which a given Subscription is active if paid in full. The most common Billing Cycle is annual, but multi-year and monthly Billing Cycles are also supported.
Brand
A level in the Partner's organizational hierarchy that provides for the administration of a specific Plan. Brands roll up to Partners in the organizational hierarchy.
Brand Site
A consumer-facing website built to allow prospective Members to self-enroll in a Plan. Brand sites may present multiple Plans.
C
Canceled Subscription
A Subscription Status indicating that all Plan benefits have been suspended with immediate effect. Once a Subscription is canceled, future billing is disabled, and the Subscription will not Auto-Renew. The Member will maintain access to their Account after cancellation but will no longer receive the benefits of their Subscription.
Cold Location
A low-performing Location. These Locations had fewer than 10 enrollments during the prior 30-day period.
Connect
The administrative console that allows Users to review Plan performance, manage Members, and verify eligibility.
Connected Account
A financial account that is created by a Partner, Brand, or Location for the purpose of maintaining the balance of their portion of the Membership Rate collected by Membersy until the balance is distributed in connection with a Payout.
Coupon
A discount or promotion offered to current or prospective Members.
Coupon Code
An alphanumeric code that a current or prospective Member can enter during the checkout process to enroll in the Plan at a reduced Membership Rate.
Customer Support

CVC
An added security feature on credit and debit cards, in the form of a 3- or 4-digit code printed on the card. As a security measure, e-retailers often request the CVC code for verification purposes.

Dashboard
A graphical summary of important information pertaining to the User's scope of oversight in Connect. Disambiguation: This refers to the default screen in Connect, not Connect as a whole.
Data Migration / Data Load
The process of moving data from one place to another, one format to another, or one application to another. A typical implementation will include a Data Load of Locations. If there are any existing Members, those may optionally be migrated as well.

Disputed Subscription
A Subscription Status indicating that a Member has questioned the validity of their enrollment in a Subscription.
DSO
Dental Support Organizations (also, Dental Service Organizations) are entities that contract with dental practices to provide management and support services to the practice. DSOs vary in size, structure, and level of support.

Early Renewal
A Renewal of a Subscription prior to the end of the current Billing Cycle (i.e., before the Renewal payment is due). Members can opt for Early Renewal to pre-pay for the next Billing Cycle.
Enroll / Enrollment
The act of subscribing a new Member to a membership Plan.
Enrollment Trends
A report of the total number of Members enrolled in a Plan during a specific period.
Expired Subscription
A Subscription Status indicating that a Subscription has lapsed and was not renewed by the Primary Member within 30 days.

Fee Schedule
A list of percentage discounts and/or reduced pricing for various services available to Members under a Plan.

Hot Location
A high-performing Location. These Locations had 10 or more enrollments during the prior 30-day period.

Location
An individual dental office or practice. Locations roll up into Regions in the organizational hierarchy.
Location Group
A collection of Locations, often within a contiguous geographic area. Location Groups roll up into Brands in the organizational hierarchy.
Location Manager / Location Admin
An individual who has been granted administrator privileges with respect to a Location.

Marketplace
Membersy’s consumer-facing website with search functionality allowing prospective Members to perform a geographic search for Plans offered by Locations.
Member
An individual enrolled in a Plan. Primary Members and Secondary Members are both considered Members.
Member ID Card
Physical or digital proof of an Active Subscription to a Plan.
Member Portal
The user interface allowing a Primary Member to log in and manage his/her Subscription.
Member Support
A range of services intended to assist Members in using the Membersy platform and managing their Subscriptions, including assistance with payments, troubleshooting, upgrading, and cancelling Subscriptions.
Membership Rate
The fee paid by the Primary Member in exchange for enrollment in a Subscription for the duration of a given Billing Cycle.

Overdue
A Subscription Status which indicates that the Primary Member has not paid their Membership Rate in full prior to the expiration of the Billing Cycle.

Partner
An organization (often a DSO) that has contracted with Membersy to offer one or more Plans to Members at participating Locations.
Partner Success
Membersy’s team responsible for delivering support and positive business outcomes for Partners and Locations.
Payout
A distribution of a portion of the Membership Rate collected by Membersy to a Partner, Brand, and/or a Location, typically on a monthly basis. Payouts are remitted from the Connected Account maintained by Membersy directly to the bank account designated by the recipient.
Pending Cancellation
The Subscription Status representing that the Subscription is not set to auto-renew.
Practice

Primary Member
The individual that is responsible for enrollment and renewal of a Subscription and payment of the Membership Rate. The Primary Member has the ultimate authority to make changes to his or her Account.
Promo Code

Plan
An arrangement in which a Member pays a periodic fee in exchange for access to discounts on identified services rendered by a participating service provider. In the context of Membersy’s Subscription business, one or more Plans are offered on a Brand Site, which is created by Membersy in collaboration with a specific Partner.
Platform
A collection of software applications through which a cohesive service is provided. Disambiguation: Membersy is a “platform”, while Connect is an important component of the overall offering.

Reactivate / Reactivation

Re-Enroll / Re-Enrollment
To convert an Expired Subscription to an Active Subscription. The aim of a Member re-enrollment campaign is to “win back” dormant Subscriptions.
Refunded Subscription
A Subscription Status indicating that a Member’s payment of the Membership Rate for a Subscription has been refunded to the Member.
Region

Renew / Renewal
To continue a Subscription once a Billing Cycle has expired. To be counted as a Renewal, the Subscription must be renewed within 30 days of expiration. Any Account with a recurring payment method on file will Auto-Renew.

Secondary Member
An individual who is enrolled in a Plan under the Primary Member’s Account. This could be a child, a spouse or a registered domestic partner of the Primary Member.
Stripe
Membersy's Subscription payment processor.
Subscription
A Plan membership purchased by a Primary Member that gives the Primary Member and any enrolled Secondary Members access to discounts on identified services rendered by a participating service provider for the duration of the Subscription Billing Cycle (often a one-year term).
Subscription Status
The state of a Subscription. Subscriptions may be Active (Current), Pending Cancellation, Disputed, Refunded, Canceled, Overdue, or Expired.

Transaction
A payment or refund associated with Subscription activity.
Transaction Fee
A fee incurred when a Transaction is processed by a payment processor.

An individual who logs into Connect with valid user credentials.
